There was a protests against the rising prices of essential commodities continue across Assam, with the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) intensifying its opposition to the surge in prices.
As per the reports, a protest was held in Mariani against the steep rise in the prices of essential commodities, including onions, sugar and mustard oil. The continuous increase in the prices of daily necessities has put additional financial pressure on the common people.
The protesters demanded that the government take immediate measures to control the prices of essential commodities. They also called for regular monitoring of market prices and strict action against traders allegedly involved in artificially hiking prices.
The protesters urged the government to take effective steps to provide relief to the public from the ongoing price rise.
