A special bamboo bicycle made from indigenous Assam bamboo was officially launched at Radhika Shanti Udyan.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma formally launched the eco-friendly bicycle.

The bicycle has been manufactured with the support of Bamboo India, using locally sourced bamboo.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also rode the bicycle himself to mark its official launch.

According to the information available, the bicycle can travel approximately 50 kilometres with a charge costing just ₹5.

The eco-friendly and cost-effective bicycle is expected to promote the use of indigenous bamboo and encourage sustainable transportation in the state.

The initiative also aims to strengthen Assam’s bamboo industry and establish the state as a “Bamboo Capital.”
