BIG BOOST FOR CRICKET IN ASSAM! A NEW CHAPTER FOR ASSAM CRICKET BEGINS!

A state-of-the-art indoor cricket facility has been inaugurated at the ACA Cricket Academy in Phulung, North Guwahati, giving a major boost to cricket in Assam. The 17,000-square-foot facility features nine practice wickets, including four spin and five fast-bowling wickets, along with advanced bowling machines and training equipment. In another major development, Guwahati is set to host the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia, making it an exciting time for cricket fans across Assam.

A major boost for cricket in Assam as a state-of-the-art indoor cricket facility has been inaugurated at the ACA Cricket Academy in Phulung, North Guwahati.

The 17,000-square-foot facility, inaugurated by BCCI Secretary Devajit Lon Saikia, features nine practice wickets—four for spin bowling and five for fast bowling. The facility has been described as the largest indoor practice cricket stadium in the country.

The centre is equipped with modern bowling machines and training technology, including two spin-bowling machines, one fast-bowling machine and a bowling speed meter. Equipment has been sourced from the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.

The facility will enable cricketers to undergo year-round training in a modern indoor environment, providing a major boost to the development of cricket in Assam.

Meanwhile, Devajit Saikia said that the Indian squad for the day-night India-West Indies match at Barsapara Stadium on September 30 will be announced soon.

He also confirmed that Guwahati will host the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia, scheduled to be played from February 11 to 15 next year.
