Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has criticised Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Gogoi alleged that Kumar is being protected by the BJP-led political establishment to continue with the SIR exercise.

Amid the controversy over SIR, allegations of differences within the Election Commission have also surfaced. However, the Election Commission has stated that decisions related to the SIR are taken with the approval of all three Election Commissioners.
